3 Ways to Create a Happy Garden
Fun fact…I have never lived in a home longer than 6 years. I don’t know what the future holds, but the more personal touches we’ve added to this house (inside and outside!) the more I can see us staying here for a long time! I love continuing to build upon the projects we’ve already worked on. It’s going to be so rewarding to add the special finishing touches that will eventually make this house the most “finished” (but still always evolving!) house we’ve ever lived in.
With the weather getting nicer I’m having so many more visions for what our yard could become! The longer we stay here the closer we get to the point where there will be less pressing / big projects and more time for the little touches I love the most. I dream about adding greenhouses, cutting gardens, rose gardens, charming garden pathways, etc.

Here are 3 ways to create a happy garden:
#1 Fill it with flowers, plants, and landscaping that make your eyes and nose happy.
A few favorite scented flowers: Lilacs, roses, sweet pea, honeysuckle, peonies, jasmine, lemon tree, daphne, clematis, wisteria, lavender
A few favorite pretty flowers: forget-me-nots, bluebells, hydrangeas, bougainvillea, helleborus
A few favorite landscape plants: Steppables (corsican mint, irish moss), boxwood, holly
#2 Design welcoming and charming spaces to make memories with people you love.
Inviting seating, a cozy firepit, mood lighting, trellises for extra character, cute benches, umbrellas, yard games, little tables, colorful or patterned pillows, lanterns, side tables, hammocks…
#3 Add soothing sounds
Wind chimes, fountains that bubble, flowers and trees that gently blow in the wind, bird feeders, outdoor speakers…so many possibilities!
